Safety in Resort
Whether you already have a holiday booked with us or plan to book, we understand that you want to feel confident in the knowledge your holiday can go ahead as safely as possible. Please rest assured that the local authorities in each destination have been working with tourism accommodation providers to ensure compliance of local Covid 19 protocols.
In addition they have introduced enhanced hygiene practices and local COVID Safe certification which Solmar Villas both encourage and actively support. Solmar villas have also been working with our in-resort Villa Managers and suppliers to ensure that local protocol is strictly followed for social distancing, hygiene and the wearing of PPE. Your safety is and remains our highest priority.
Service in Resort
Our in-resort Villa Managers or villa management companies will of course continue as normal to be at hand by telephone to offer any assistance or advice required during your stay. It is optional as to whether or not our customers receive a visit from their Villa Manager during their stay which will continue to be available for guests meaning it's your choice whether you would like to take advantage of this service or not. In such situations, rest assured that local protocol for COVID-19 prevention and control measures will be followed by all our staff in resort until such a time that these requirements have been relaxed locally.
Please rest assured that our Villa Managers are there to assist and support you should you or a member of your party experience symptoms during your holiday.
Advice will be reliant on the local authorities; however, we will provide all our customers with the COVID-19 advice and helpline contact numbers in your customer documentation and online villa book.
Villa Safety
Villa Access
To comply with social distancing measures and ensure that the villas are receiving thorough cleans and disinfecting in-between each guest, it is most important that you arrive no earlier than 4pm on your day of arrival and leave the villa by 10am on your day of departure. Cleaners have a small window to prepare the villas thoroughly for the next guests in line with COVID-19 prevention. Specific products are used in line with local protocol for the prevention of COVID-19 which involves spraying, leaving and then airing which of course takes time, as such early check-ins and late check-outs are not possible. This of course is for your own safety, and as such your co-operation is greatly appreciated. Keys will be placed in key code boxes to avoid contact with villa owners or management companies. Where it is necessary to collect keys from an office local protocol is to be followed by the office staff.
Villa Cleaning
Where mid-week towel and linen changes are provided, these services will be restricted during the Coronavirus pandemic to obey the safety measures in place around local protocol for the prevention of COVID-19. Additional towels and linen will therefore either be provided at the villa upon your arrival or will be delivered outside the villa wrapped in polythene. Mid-week and additional cleans will also be unavailable/restricted during this time.

Villa Maintenance
Maintenance teams will endeavour to refrain wherever possible from entering the villa whilst guests are in residence. If maintenance visits are required, arrangements may be made to enter the villa when guests are outside the villa and should follow local protocols for the prevention and control measures for COVID-19.
Pools should be cleaned regularly and the chemicals maintained in line with recommended/legal levels to avoid contamination. Therefore, the pool maintenance must visit the property as normal whilst guests are in residence, although they are restricted to outdoor space only (open air) and should adhere to local protocols for the prevention and control measures for COVID-19.
Villa Extras
Extra items are likely to be delivered prior to guests’ arrival. All items should have been cleaned and disinfected. Staff delivering items should follow local protocol for social distancing measures, hand cleaning, and respiratory hygiene throughout the collection and delivery process.
Playing your part
Read the advice of local authorities and follow all local health measures in place during your journey and in your destination. Local measures and travel restrictions may change before you arrive or during your stay
Villa Furnishings
In some destinations, local protocol for the prevention of Covid 19 advises villa owners and managing companies to minimise on soft furnishings, where possible. This may mean that items such as throws, rugs, cushions may be minimised for your stay. Please appreciate that this is for the safety of our guests and staff
Protection in Resort
Make sure you have comprehensive and adequate travel insurance which as a minimum, protect you against cancellation, curtailment, medical expenses, loss/theft of possessions and documents, personal liability and airline failure, (not limited to) medical health and cancellation refunds for your travel. Although you can benefit from our Travel Restrictions Guarantee allowing you to move or cancel your booking, we still recommend that you purchase full travel insurance to protect you in any eventuality.
