The journey begins
‘Well, what do you think?’ John Tayler asked his wife, Maria, referring to the Menorcan apartment they’d just viewed. ‘I love it,’ she replied without hesitation. They bought the apartment and soon began renting it out.
Following the dream
After the apartment there was a three-bedroom villa. Then John and Maria helped friends to rent their properties. In 1994 they founded Solmar Villas. Today, with daughter Julie at the helm, we’ve grown into a wider family of 97 people, most of whom are based at our head office in Burton upon Trent. We have a portfolio of more than 2,000 villas across 30+ destinations and we help to create thousands of dream holidays every year.
