This gorgeous little gem of a house is just 150 metres from the beach at Fanari - the Light House area just outside the capital town of Kefalonia, Argostoli. Tucked into a pretty walled garden at the end of a small lane just off the coastal track, Villa Fanari is a short walk to everything. The nearest restaurant and minimarket are just 5 minutes stroll, and the very elegant water side bar/restaurant of Katovothres a little further. A 20 minute stroll along the tree lined street will bring you to the centre of Argostoli itself with its wealth of shops and restaurants. An ideal location.

Newly renovated from an original property, Villa Fanari has loads of character – the accommodation is divided into two buildings, with a shaded walkway joining them. The large, open plan kitchen/dining room is finished in country style and offers a large range with built in BBQ grill. This area also offers a small sitting area and flat screen TV.

The bedrooms are situated in the adjacent building and can be accessed separately or interconnecting. Both have large double beds and en suite shower rooms – one of the bedrooms also has a single day bed that could sleep a 5th person (probably more suitable for a child) From these bedrooms you directly access a large shaded terrace with comfortable sitting furniture looking over the garden and pool area. A charming shaded dining area is situated under the fruit trees just outside the kitchen (very handy). Although the original property is an older building it has undergone a full modernisation and the interior feels light, modern and very stylish with a sophisticated twist. This would be an ideal house for two couples travelling together or a small family.

The width of other access doors is 74cm the ground floor bedroom door is 85cm and the widest bath/shower room is 60cm on the ground floor. With its signature lagoon, bustling port and harbour area, and fabulous choice of local restaurants, the capital of Kefalonia offers the chance to experience a real Greek Town. Large, graceful squares invite you to while away the daytime hours with a cool drink under the shade and enjoy a bit of people watching, while the fabulous water front provides the ideal spot for your evening promenade. A walk across the footbridge towards the other side of the lagoon is not to be missed, and there are plenty of local shops to delve into along the way!

Just outside the capital you'll find beautiful wooded areas along the Fanari coastline looking across to Luxouri, as well as the much photographed lighthouse point. This area is home to some of the most elegant summer houses and was the favourite swimming spot for Argostoli residents to swim. The coastal road winds between the high trees along to the tourist resort of Lassi with its two superb beaches.
