Can Berenguer

Lovely villa, clean, comfortable and everything we needed. Pool and gardens fantastic. Location perfect for walking into town (15mins) and bus stop near by. We used the bus to go to Puerto Pollenca and Alcudia, very convenient and nice not to need a car. There is a fantastic bar and restaurant very close to the villa, highly recommend. The drawback to the walkable location is the road is very busy, although the pool area and gardens are very private and it suited my family. Loved the two chickens too!

Can Berenguer is a spacious and comfy villa with a lovely pool area and beautiful gardens. The smell from the citrus trees behind the house is wonderful. There were often chickens roaming between the trees and we had regular visits from 3 very friendly tabby cats who live on site. The location is perfect - a few minutes walk in one direction to two supermarkets and just a bit longer in the other direction into Pollensa old town. There's a bus stop right by the gate and it is so easy to get buses around the island. There's no need for a car at all. On the negative side, I feel the villa maintenence has been a bit neglected. This is such a shame as if it's left, it will eventually start to deteriorate. Things we noticed.... The two big pool lights are supposed to come on automatically at night. They never did - probably because the top of one of them has been broken off. The shower head holder is non-adjustable and too close to the wall, so you have to stand right by to wall to get under it. We're both average height and slim - I'm not sure how a bigger person would manage. There is black mould growing at the tops of the walls and on the ceiling in the bathroom. This really needs cleaning off properly and the area needs repainting. There's no extractor fan. Maybe a sign encouraging people to open the window after use would help. The washing machine was disgusting. The detergent drawer was full of mould and hardened detergent residue and limescale. The good news is that I managed to clean off the mould and after running the machine through a couple of hot washes, during which the whole villa stank as ancient mouldy water ran through the pipes, the machine actually became usable! Oh and I also reattached the toilet seat and stopped water squirting out sideways from the kitchen tap! Despite these snags, I'd still recommend the villa. I just can give it five stars. I hope the owners read this and take some action.
