Excellent location, great pool and mature garden

Nice holiday home in a great location. The table tennis and pool table were a lot of fun to use, just like the pool. Note that the pool is advertised as heated, but if it is, it’s very minimal — you barely notice it. The house is spacious enough for a large group, and it’s great that there are plenty of beds and bathrooms. The kitchen is okay, but we had to keep switching the plug between the washing machine and the dishwasher because one socket was broken. Also, the couch really needs to be replaced — it was completely worn out. It also looked like the cleaning before our arrival was quite minimal. The sunbeds by the pool were quite old, but there were plenty of them, which was nice. On the positive side, we had good internet, a TV with Netflix, and all communication was excellent. We received the Wi-Fi code, the safe and alarm codes in a well-organized digital folder. All in all, we had a lovely holiday. These points are more of a heads-up for the host to possibly improve things in the future.

Villa Bart – A Hidden Gem in an Exceptional Location We booked Villa Bart last minute over the Easter holidays and were pleasantly surprised to find that it’s a new addition to Solmar’s collection. The villa is located in an exceptional area known as The Golden Mile — and it’s called that for good reason. This exclusive stretch features a mix of high-end luxury residences and premium rental properties. Just a 5-minute drive south of Marbella and 10 minutes north of Estepona, the villa enjoys a prime position only two minutes’ walk from a stunning beach with a beautiful coastal pathway. There’s a nice beach bar and café, Pepe’s, just around the corner — ideal for pre-sunset drinks. We also recommend visiting Hotel MET, a luxurious 5-star resort within a 5–10 minute walk, with an upscale beachside bar. If you’re celebrating something special, it’s a wonderful spot (cocktails are around €15–20, and worth it). For groceries, Mercadona and Lidl are both just 200 meters away, making shopping incredibly convenient. (Just note that they’re closed on Sundays.) We’d recommend renting a car — we had one, and it gave us easy access to all the fantastic places within a 10–15 minute drive. Without one, you’d likely spend a lot on taxis or need to rely on bus services. The villa itself is well-equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the master bedroom features a sunny balcony that catches the sun all day. The pool area is also bathed in sunlight from morning until evening. The outdoor BBQ and dining area is lovely, surrounded by a beautifully maintained garden. ⸻ Our Suggestions for Improvement: While we had a fantastic stay, here are a few small suggestions for the owner that we believe would bring the villa fully up to Solmar’s usual high standards: 1.Replace the sun loungers – They are quite worn, with one even held together by a tie wrap. While this was visible in the photos, upgrading them would greatly improve the look and comfort of the pool area. 2.Upgrade the downstairs double bed mattress – It doesn’t match the quality of the master bedroom’s mattress and would benefit from an upgrade for a better sleep experience. 3.Add full-length mirrors in the adult bedrooms – The small bathroom ones currently provided aren’t ideal for getting ready in the evening. ⸻ As a family that has booked with Solmar 1–2 times every year for the past 3 years, we would recommend Villa Bart — primarily for its unbeatable location. With the small improvements above, we think it would be absolutely up to the standard we’ve come to expect from Solmar villas.
